BLACK BOOK DELIVERY OF MISCONDUCT AT RAVELLAAN 96, JULY 17 1:00 PM

On May 19, 2025, the last original residents of Ravellaan 96 were evicted from their home. Nine communities of 20 people per floor had been living together in Ravellaan for ten years, until their temporary contracts expired. After that, they ended up in a game of musical chairs: they were not given any tenant rights because the Municipality of Utrecht shirked its responsibility. In those ten years, no new plans were made for the area. Nevertheless, the original residents were replaced by 180 new residents without rights who will pay the full rent for the rooms for the next two years. All to maximize profit margins. The original residents have tirelessly engaged in discussions, they have taken action, and shown solidarity. But despite all this, the Municipality of Utrecht has continued with its plan.

COME TO THE HANDING OVER OF CLAIMS TO KERCKEBOSCH BV AND EENHOORN MANAGEMENT ON JUNE 16, 2:00 PM IN ZEIST

Maintain and renovate thoroughly! The Graaf Adolflaan in Zeist is riddled with mold, drafts, leaks and a serious lack of maintenance. The complex on the Graaf Adolflaan is a flat from 1962 with 135 apartments, the majority of which are rented out as social and mid-range rental, some have been sold. It is owned by Kerckebosch BV, a large-scale real estate investor with many properties in the municipality and has been managed by Eenhoorn Management since 2018. However, complaints about the apartments on the Graaf Adolflaan are hardly responded to by the owner or the manager, with major consequences for the residents. The very poor condition of the building has been detrimental to their health and quality of life for years. That is why they immediately demand that Kerckebosch BV and Eenhoorn Management take action to improve the conditions!

Action during summary proceedings against the rent freeze! June 4 11:00 District Court of The Hague

On Wednesday 4 June, Aedes, the association of 230 housing corporations, will go to court to demand that the announced rent freeze be reversed. Aedes states that the announced rent freeze will bring new construction, renovation and sustainability to a standstill. The reality, however, is that rents have been increased by record percentages for years, while the construction of new social housing is lagging behind and tenants remain in moldy homes for decades. Government investments in social housing are lacking and the money to solve the housing crisis is being unilaterally taken away from tenants. Time to take action!

Support for residents of the Ravel is expanding!

On January 29, we took action against the municipality of Utrecht and landlord Socius. They want to evict 180 people from Ravellaan 96 because otherwise they will build up tenancy rights. We have made it clear: the exchange of tenants by the municipality of Utrecht and Socius must stop! Solidarity is expanding and more and more organizations and groups are joining the fight for tenancy and housing rights. They no longer accept that people are made homeless – in the middle of a housing crisis. The municipality is behaving like a bad landlord and is abandoning these residents. But together we demand tenancy rights and housing security!

ACTION: STOP EVICTIONS BY SOCIUS AND THE MUNICIPALITY OF UTRECHT, 29 JANUARY 15:00, STADHUISBRUG 1, UTRECHT.

Approximately 180 residents of 'de Ravel' (Ravellaan 96 in Utrecht) are threatened with homelessness by landlord Socius and owner the municipality of Utrecht. The residents were recently informed that they must leave the building by 19 May. The municipality of Utrecht still has no plans for demolition or renovation and the building will remain standing for years to come. Nevertheless, the municipality of Utrecht is threatening the current residents with evictions, in order to exchange them for new temporary tenants! By exchanging the residents, the municipality wants to prevent the current tenants from building up tenancy rights. 180 people, including students, workers and vulnerable residents, are being evicted and are in great housing uncertainty. This is an attack on the housing and tenancy rights of everyone! The Bond Precaire Woonvormen and action group Red de Ravel! demand that the current residents can remain in their homes. Tenants are not interchangeable! On January 29 at 15:00 we will hand over our demands for housing security together with the residents at the city hall on Stadhuisbrug 1 in Utrecht. Show your solidarity and come to the handing over of demands!
