The Precarious Housing Association is looking for two new board members

The BPW is a grassroots organization and active association that stands up for the interests of people who live precariously. We help people who live temporarily, insecurely, and/or too expensively. Through mutual aid and solidarity, we stand up for our right to good, affordable housing. As an organization, we work with local and national working groups, each with their own affinity and expertise. In this way, we can help many people in different ways throughout the Netherlands.

The BPW is a horizontal organization with members, working groups and a board. The board consists of seven members, who jointly support the association and are responsible for the growth and continuity of the association (including policy, action plan, annual accounts). The board meets online approximately six times a year. In addition, the board meets with members and volunteers during the annual AGM and the working group meetings, which take place once every two months. The board members are members of the association and are unpaid.

As the term of two board members approaches, we are looking for two new board members to strengthen the association. We are looking for enthusiastic members who are passionate about the housing struggle and want to think along about the course and vision of the association. Participating in the board means working together with other motivated volunteers on positive change and the right to housing.

Procedure:

You can apply before May 31st by sending an email to bestuur@bondprecairewoonvorm.nl. Please include a short motivation and explanation of how you are involved with the BPW. Your application will then be presented at the General Members Meeting on 14 June in Utrecht. Ultimately, the members will decide on your application. If you have any questions, you can call board member Lilian Seip (06-31532272).

Diversity is important to the BPW and we therefore strongly encourage women, people of color and people from the LGBTIQ+ community to apply for this vacancy.

Support the fight for housing security!
