BPW Member Day March 15 in Utrecht
The Bond Precaire Woonvormen (BPW) is steadily building a grassroots movement locally and nationally that demands housing rights for everyone. Do you live temporarily, insecurely or too expensively? Or are you looking for a home? We cordially invite old, new members and interested parties to the BPW members day on 15 March at Basis Actuele Kunst (BAK) on Pauwstraat 13a in Utrecht. On this day you will get to know other members of the BPW, the various working groups that are active and what you can do in the housing struggle.

Workshop 2.Dh5 | Poldered: what does the housing struggle movement do?
Sunday 2 March, 13:30 – 14:45, Ru Paré, Chris Lebeaustraat 4, Amsterdam | The already serious housing crisis is only getting worse. Rents and house prices continue to rise, and the lack of affordable housing is increasing. We now have a government that only wants to serve the interests of the real estate sector and home buyers, and mainly offers scapegoat politics and repression for those who disagree. The opposition in parliament seems toothless and powerless.
Many social organizations and movements pretend that we still live in the times of the welfare state and the polder model. But those times are over and the polder model is now being actively blown up by the right-wing rulers. Time for a different strategy, you might say.
Fortunately, there are many groups actively trying to address housing issues, and that at many levels. From direct action against homelessness and eviction, to fighting rent increases, to enforcing different policies. People from some of these organizations are brought together in this workshop to share their vision with us about their strategy.
The workshop is organized by Bond Precaire Woonvormen, in collaboration with globalinfo.nlIn addition to BPW, representatives of the platform Residential uprising, the Amsterdam Tenants Association, We Refuse the Rent Increase, Street Alliance and Freeview participate in the panel. The discussion will be moderated by Melissa Koutouzis (HNA/Housing protest). In a second part of the workshop we will all discuss how we can work on initiatives that we can support together. There are already some proposals in the making…
