LOWER THE RENT: National housing protest | May 10, 2:00 PM

Domplein Saturday 10 May at 14:00. We are fed up with the yearly rent hikes! After the unprecedented rent increase of last year, we can expect a massive increase again this year. A giant rent explosion is waiting for all tenants. On May 10th from 14:00 the housing movement, a coalition of tenant, housing and activist organizations, will protest for lower rents.

Tenants and those looking for a house are exploited down to the last penny while the government stands idly by. The government should invest in democratic social housing. Instead, to everyone, from the Minister of housing Mona Keijzer to local politics: the interests of landlords come first. The housing crisis affects all of us, now is the time to do something!

Since the government will not help us, we are taking action to educate, agitate and organise for lower rents and an end to the housing crisis. Together we fight for lower rents, housing security, democratically managed social housing and against homelessness, bad living conditions and exploitative landlords.

We are not going to beg the government for change any more, we are organising tenants to come in action and form a block for lower rents and an end to the housing crisis. Show your solidarity. Take part in the national housing protest on May 10th from 14:00, on the Domplein,Utrecht.
