De Bond Precaire Woonvormen fights for the right to housing,for secure accommodation for everybody. We refuse to engage in scapegoating and xenophobic rhetoric, and would rather tackle the crisis at its root. The solution is to provide broadly accessible housing! We support tenants in their conflicts with landlords and by building a national network of solidarity. Not only do we make sure renters are not alone in their struggles but we aim to expose the failings of the housing system to the general public. One of these failings is the many experiences of migrants who are systematically exploited when it comes to housing. Discrimination, intimidation and exploitation are widespread, but are experienced even more so by migrants. With the powergrab by the extreme right in our country it is more important than ever to act in solidarity with each other. Only together can we truly fight against precarious living situations and for accessible housing. Don’t let these political leaders divide us, housing justice for all!

This is why we will be participating in No Border Camp with a housing advice hour on 22 august 17:00-18:30h. With this we not only want to dispel myths about the link between the housing crisis and migration, but we also want to offer practical advice on how to support tenants in their struggles against the exploitative practices of landlords. Come by with your questions about your contract, advice for others about your housing struggles or to discuss further action and organizing on this topic! Stop the scapegoat policy: HOUSES FOR EVERYONE!

For years, the government has been pursuing a policy of demolition in the social housing stock. Speculators are buying up houses left and right, thus driving up house prices. The result: you can only find a home if you are rich. The rich are getting richer, the poor are getting poorer. The government is looking for a scapegoat for the housing crisis and this right-wing government is no exception. The scapegoat: migrants. Don't be misled by this dirty propaganda! Migrants are just as much victims of government policy and the housing shortage as anyone who is not rich.

Let us not be torn apart by the divide and rule politics of the capitalist system. It is high time for widely accessible housing for everyone!
