In the ACU in Utrecht on December 9
Scroll down for English.
On Sunday 9 December, the Bond Precaire Woonvorm (BPW) is organizing a literature meet-up in ACU, Utrecht. We will take a joint dive into the literature on housing, the city and social struggle.
The BPW has asked several activists, specialists and tenants to select a text that has touched them personally or shaped them professionally. This may be a novel or a poem, but also a 'hardcore' academic article about, for example, insecurity, gentrification or activism. There is really only one condition: it must inspire.
Each text is briefly introduced, then we read some selected passages, and then we engage in conversation. The central question is: how do we get a grip on the housing crisis that also affects Utrecht? No preparation is necessary, the setting is informal and the texts are discussed in an accessible manner.
The official language is Dutch, but some texts (and possibly presentations) will be in English. There is an option for live translation back and forth.
With Amy Abdou, Eline Hansen, Roel Griffioen and others.
After the Literature Meet-up there will be vegan food from Barriccoons Kitchen at 19:00.
- Admission: Free
- Date: Sunday 9 December 9
- Time: 16.00-18.00
- Location: ACU, Voorstraat 71, Utrecht, www.acu.nl
